Privacy Policy
Murmur · Last updated: 14 June 2026
Murmur ("we", "us") provides a voice and screen-recording feedback tool for Figma, delivered as a Chrome extension and a Figma widget/plugin. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions? Email support@murmurforme.com.
What we collect
- Account information — your email address, used to sign you in (via a one-time code) and to determine whether you have a free or paid (Pro) plan.
- Recordings you create — the audio and/or screen-recording (video) feedback you record. This is content you intentionally create and share with your collaborators.
- Figma context — the name and URL of the Figma file you're recording feedback on, and the identifier of the frame you selected, so your feedback can be placed in the right place.
- Subscription status — whether your subscription is active, provided to us by our payment processor (we never see or store your card details).
- Basic usage state — preferences and a record of which files you've opened, stored locally in your browser to power notifications and avoid duplicates.
We do not collect your browsing history, and the extension only runs on Figma design pages.
How we use it
- To store your recordings and show them as playable pins to your collaborators inside Figma.
- To sign you in and apply your plan's features (free vs Pro).
- To notify you when new feedback is left on files you've opened.
- To process and maintain your subscription.
Service providers we use
- Supabase — stores your account, recordings, and feedback data. See Supabase's privacy policy.
- Lemon Squeezy — our payment processor and Merchant of Record. They handle checkout and billing; card data is processed by them, not us. See Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.
- Figma — the platform our widget/plugin runs inside. Your use of Figma is governed by Figma's own policies.
What we don't do
- We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
- We do not use your data to assess creditworthiness or for lending.
- We do not use your recordings for any purpose unrelated to delivering the feedback to your collaborators.
Sharing of your recordings
Recordings you create are intended to be shared with the people who have access to the Figma file you place them in. Anyone with access to that file (and the Murmur widget) can play, reply to, and react to your feedback. Please only record content you're comfortable sharing with your collaborators.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your recordings and account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can delete a pin (and its recording) from the Figma canvas at any time. To delete your account and associated data, email support@murmurforme.com and we'll remove it.
Security
Data is stored with our service providers using industry-standard protections, and access is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
Murmur is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise them, contact support@murmurforme.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, provide additional notice.
